DISTAL ESOPHAGUS
Alcian Blue for Barrett’s esophagus, PAS for fungi and to exclude occult malignancy, Cytology brushings for Candida.

GASTRIC
Immunohistochemical stain for H. pylori, PAS & Pankeratin to exclude occult malignancy.

DUODENUM
As indicated, immunohistochemical stain for H. pylori, LCA for intra-epithelial lymphocytes in celiac disease.

SMALL BOWEL
As indicated, LCA, for intra-epithelial lymphocytes in suspected malabsorption cases.

COLON/RECTUM
As indicated, LCA, for intraepithelial lymphocytes and trichrome in suspected microscopic colitis/collagenous colitis cases. When appropriate, lymphoma panels for MALT Lymphomas, CD117, CD34, Actin, Desmin, S-100 for GIST, Infectious stains to exclude Candida, atypical Mycobacteria, parasites, etc.

LIVER
Iron, trichrome, PAS-H, PAS-D, Scheuer staging for chronic viral hepatidities.
